If you work additional hours in a week (over 40 hours work time*), you can choose to be paid the overtime at time and one half your regular rate or receive Comp time – additional time off – at time and one half of hours earned.  To be paid the overtime, you do not need to do anything.  For additional time off, follow the instructions below.

1.  To request Comp time, after entering additional hours worked, choose Overtime Comp Requested from the Pay Code drop down list:

Note: you can add the Overtime Comp Requested pay code to any day of the week that additional hours were worked UNLESS the week crosses over pay periods.  If the week crossed pay periods, add the comp time request to the pay period the overtime is earned.  You can determine which pay period the overtime was earned by checking the results tab in each pay period for Overtime Earned:

2.  Enter the amount of overtime to convert to Comp Time in the Hours column – you can choose to convert up to the entire amount of overtime:

On the Results tab, you’ll see the Comp Time Earned as entered on the timesheet:

Note: the results tab only shows the number of hours requested, not the amount earned.

On the Leave Balances tab you will see the amount of Comp Time earned based on the amount requested:

*Work time does not include leave hours or holiday.  Additional hours worked in a week with leave or holiday will be paid at the regular rate and cannot be converted to Comp time.
