I clocked into the wrong job. How do I get the time I worked on the correct timesheet?

If the job you clocked into is active:

1. Remove the time from the incorrect timesheet by "zeroing" out the clock.

Clock on wrong active job

To zero out the clock time, enter the same time on the in and out fields for the clock row.  If needed, a comment so your supervisor knows why you are zeroing out the time:

clock zeroed out
Note: make sure the zeroed out time does not overlap with your actual work time for any of your assignments.  You can enter any times on the row to zero out the clock that are outside your worked hours.

2. Add the time to the correct timesheet using the Work In/Out pay code.

You can switch between jobs using the Switch Assignment button on the timesheet:

Remember, Work In/Out always requires comments.

Note: if you only clocked once on the wrong job (in or out only, not in and out) and clocked once on the correct job, follow the instructions in step 1 to zero out the clock on the wrong job, then see the Missing In or Out Clock FAQ for instructions on adding your missing clock time to the correct job.

If the job you clocked into is inactive:

1. Make a note of the time you worked for the day.

2. Contact your Business Center to have the clock time removed from the incorrect timesheet.

3. Once the clock time has been removed from the job that is inactive, add the time to the correct timesheet using the Work In/Out pay code:

Remember, Work In/Out always requires comments.

Note: if you only clocked once on the wrong job (in or out only, not in and out) and clocked once on the correct job, follow the instructions in step 1 and 2 to have the clock time removed from the wrong job, then see the Missing In or Out Clock FAQ for instructions on adding your missing clock time to the correct job.
