*PLEASE NOTE* this FAQ only applies to supervisors of public safety employees. For all other employees, EmpCenter automatically calculates overtime and supervisors do not need to acknowledge the overtime on the timesheet.
When a public safety employee enters overtime on the timesheet, a red level exception is generated:

If the overtime is correct, the supervisor MUST acknowledge the exception or the overtime will not be paid.
To acknowledge the exception, check the box in the acknowledge field on the exception tab and save the timesheet:

Please note, HR and payroll do not know if the overtime is correct an cannot approve. Supervisors MUST approve the overtime.
