A: Pay codes are the types of pay you are earning (work, on-call, stand-by) or using (vacation, sick, comp) for the hours entered on the timesheet.  The pay codes you see are determined by your policy profile in EmpCenter.  Some of the pay codes are also limited to certain job types.  Below are the pay codes and definition for the Classified Hourly policy profile.  Note: the pay codes below are in alphabetical order; the order on the timesheet is by most common first.

A: The timesheet in EmpCenter Mobile has a different look and fewer options than the Desktop version: A. Menu: return to the employee dashboard. B. + : add time to the timesheet.  The date will default to the current date; you can select any date in the current pay period from the time entry screen.
A: EmpCenter Mobile is a simplified version of the system designed to allow easy access to common time entry tasks.  However, not all processes are available in Mobile.  The lists below highlight the differences between the Mobile version and the Desktop version of EmpCenter. A: If you have any issues with your paycheck or just have questions about your pay, please contact the Payroll Office.
A: After a timesheet has been processed, any changes must go through the amended timesheet procedure. Your employees should only request to amend their timesheet to correct misreported time or leave. 
A: You can access EmpCenter from any computer with internet access to record your time using the Web Clock.  If you are unable to access EmpCenter, you will simply update your timesheet at your next possible opportunity to do so using the Enter My Hours option.   See the user guide and/or training for your policy profile or the FAQ below for more details on entering time on your timesheet: Classified Hourly - Enter Time on Timesheet
A: The leave request will be visible to both you and your supervisor as “pending” until your supervisor responds.  If the pay period ends before your supervisor approves the time off request but you took the time off, you will need to manually add the time to your timesheet. See the appropriate FAQ below for more details on entering time on your timesheet: Classified Hourly
A: Exchange time must be used in the fiscal year it is earned (e.g., fiscal year 2022 is July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022; time earned during the year must be used by June 30th). If you have time available in your Exchange bank at the beginning of June, EmpCenter shows that if you do not use the time by June 30th, you will lose the time:
A: Personal leave must be used by June 30th.  If you do not use the leave by June 30th, you will lose the time.  EmpCenter shows this in the leave balances tab.  If you have leave available in your Personal Leave Bank at the beginning of June, EmpCenter shows that if you do not use the leave by the end of the month, you will lose the leave:
A: If you are late, discuss with your supervisor how they would like you to make up or account for the time.  EmpCenter will calculate the total time worked for the week.  If you do not work enough hours to fulfill your FTE (e.g., 40 hours for a 1.0 FTE, 20 hours for a .5 FTE), EmpCenter will display the following exception to notify you of the missing hours:
A: You can access EmpCenter remotely from any computer with internet access, your phone or other mobile device, or you can easily delegate timesheet approval for your employees to another supervisor.

A: If you have multiple positions, you will be prompted to choose the appropriate position when accessing EmpCenter to enter your time - whether you are using a physical clock, the web clock, or the timesheet entry view.
