A: Approve Through Email When an employee submits a time off request, you will receive an email notification.  The email will have the basic details of the request and you can approve it directly in the email by clicking the "approve this Time Off Request" link:
A: *PLEASE NOTE* this FAQ only applies to supervisors of public safety employees.  For all other employees, EmpCenter automatically calculates overtime and supervisors do not need to acknowledge the overtime on the timesheet. A: Approvals in EmpCenter Mobile have a slightly different process than approvals in the Desktop version. 1. After clicking on Approve Timesheets from the supervisor dashboard, click on the employee you would like to review the timesheet for:
A: EmpCenter has a rudimentary scheduling component that allows for assigning a limited number of schedule templates to employees. The functionality may not meet all of your scheduling needs and only affects Classified employees’ timesheets and hours.
A: Once a time off request has been submitted, you cannot make any changes to it.  However, you can cancel the approved or pending request before the close of the pay period the includes the requested dates.  If the request was already approved, cancelling will alert your supervisor and put the time back in your leave bank.
A: Once a time off request has been submitted no changes can be made to the request.  If changes (dates, times, leave types) need to be made, the time off request must be cancelled.  Employees can cancel their own time off requests; supervisors should only cancel the request if the employee is unable to complete the cancellation.
A: EmpCenter will automatically add an hour meal for classified employees only on any day with 6 or more work hours (either clock or work in/out) entered on the timesheet.  The automatic meal punch can be overridden by a schedule assigned by the supervisor or the employee can change the amount directly on their timesheet. To adjust a meal punch, simply type the correct elapsed time (e.g. .5, .75, 1.5) in the Hours field for the meal entry on the timesheet:
A: Once you have assigned a permanent schedule template to your employee, they remain on the schedule until you change or remove it. To change or remove a permanent schedule template: 1. Select Assign Schedules on the Dashboard under Schedules to access the templates:
A: The timesheet will default to the current open pay period; once you have submitted your timesheet or your supervisor has approved the timesheet, it will default to the next pay period.  However, you can change the period to view past or future timesheets.
A: If you entered time on the wrong day, you can easily change the work date.  Click on the down arrow next to the plus sign then select Change Work Date:     Note: you can only change to a date within the timesheet pay period and you cannot move clocked time. Select the date the entry should be moved to then save your changes.
A: For all employees, you can view the number of hours you have available in all time off banks you are eligible for on the tab at the bottom of your timesheet.  (Reminder: to access your timesheet, click on Enter My Hours from the employee dashboard.) Classified Employees Click on the Leave Balances tab to see your leave banks:
A: If you have only one job, or “assignment”, you will be directed to the Web Clock without any extra steps.  If you have more than one assignment, you must first select the assignment you are clocking for before being directed to the Web Clock: Select the assignment to access the Web Clock. 
A: The Exceptions box displays on the supervisor and business center dashboard.  You will see exceptions listed for all employees you have access to in your role.

A: If you will be out of the office for a period of time, EmpCenter allows you to delegate your supervisor responsibilities to another employee assigned to the supervisor role.  The supervisor delegated to will be able to approve timesheets, time off requests, assign schedules, and edit employee time for your employees.   They will also receive all notifications from EmpCenter about your employees.   You will also still be able to do all of these tasks for your employees and still receive any email notifications from EmpCenter.
A: Clock rows cannot be deleted, but they can be zeroed out.  To zero out the clock row, in the hours column enter the same time into the in field (top row) and out field (bottom row) then save your changes - make sure the times entered do not overlap with your work time for the day: 
A: You can view and edit your employees’ timesheets at any point in the pay period. To access employee timesheets, select Edit Employee Time from the Supervisor Dashboard: Manager Time Entry Overview On the Manager Time Entry page you can view all of your employees’ timesheets plus any employees that have been delegated to you.
A: If the university is closed or has a delayed opening, classified employees can use Closure Leave for the work time missed due to the closure.  Closure Leave is entered directly on the timesheet. 1.
